Nutrition for Children

Nutrition is all about eating a healthy, well-balanced diet. Food and drink provide the energy and nutrients necessary for good health. Learning nutrition may help you make better food choices.

Why are nutrients good for you, and what are they?

The components of food known as nutrients are what our bodies use to function. Your activity level, growth stage, and age all impact the nutrients you need.

Nutrition for children is the same in adults. Everyone requires the same nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, carbohydrates, protein, and fat. These are referred to as nutrients. At different ages, children need different amounts of specific nutrients.

Consider the following nutrient-dense foods for your kids:

Social-emotional skills like sharing, discussing the meal, and saying “please” and “thank you”.
Executive function skills like making decisions and following hunger cues.
Motor skills like serving, passing, using utensils, and cleaning up after themselves.

Allergies and special

If you child diet has a food allergen or special diet we’ll work though a plan together.

Fun facts:

Milk is good for your bones and teeth.

Drinking milk is a great way to get calcium, the mineral important for building strong bones. Bones and teeth are similar, but teeth aren’t made of bone. However, teeth do rely on calcium the same way bones do.
